-Olympic has added its second Boeing 737-300, an ex-Western Pacific aircraft on lease from Boullioun Aviation Services.
-Northwest Airlines has concluded a deal with Fortis Aviation's Alliance AirInvest to acquire three ex-Thai International McDonnell Douglas DC-10-30ERs. The three aircraft have been delivered and will enter service later this year after overhaul.
-Lufthansa has firmed up an earlier commitment for 10 Airbus A340-600s. Deliveries of the Rolls-Royce Trent 500-powered, stretched A340 will begin to Lufthansa in early 2003.
-Two ex-Air France Airbus A300B2s acquired by European Aviation will be operated under an 18-month contract to Air Foyle Charter Airlines from July on sub-service and ad hoc charters.
-Finnair has terminated financial leases on three Boeing MD-80s and purchased the aircraft. At the same time, two other MD-80s have been sold to Indigo Aviation and leased back for seven years, after which they will be replaced by new Airbus A320s.
-Three McDonnell Douglas DC-10-30s leased from American Airlines to Transaero have been acquired by the Ages Group.
-Brymon Airways has taken delivery of the first of eight new de Havilland Dash 8-300s.
-Gill Airways has leased a secondhand ATR 72 from Aero International (Regional), boosting its ATR fleet to seven.
-Wideröe has signed a contract for two de Havilland Dash 8-300s to replace two smaller Dash 8-100s from September. A conditional order has been placed for one additional Dash 8-300.
-Aerolineas Argentinas will introduce an 18- year-old Pratt & Whitney JT9D-powered Boeing 747-200 in May on three-year lease from International Lease Finance. The aircraft was previously leased to Korean Air.
-Pantanal of Brazil has leased a four-year-old ATR 42-320 from Bermuda-based Fuselage Finance, for scheduled services, and charters for Brazilian petroleum company Petrobas.
-Hapag-Lloyd is taking an Airbus A310-300 on an aircraft, crew, maintenance and insurance deal with Spanish operator Air Plus/Air Comet. The lease was arranged by Airstream International Group.
