-World Airways has signed a three-year wet-lease agreement with Buenos Aires, Argentina-based STAF Airlines to operate a Boeing MD-11 convertible freighter on cargo services between the USA and South America, with an option for a second aircraft.

-Canada 3000 has become the first operator to take delivery of the Airbus A330-200, with the hand-over of the first of two General Electric CF6-80E1-powered versions on lease from International Lease Finance.

-Orlando, Florida, based charter start-up Planet Airways has acquired a Boeing 727-100 from C-S Aviation Services.

-Executive Aircraft of Kansas has purchased the remaining ex-Saeaga Airlines Bombardier Canadair Regional Jet and de Havilland Dash 8-300 in a deal arranged by Transasian Air.

-China Northwest Airlines has sold three of its nine Tupolev Tu-154Ms to Kazakhstan, which are being replaced by A320s. China Southwest Airlines has also sold its last Boeing 707 to an United Arab Emirates based user.

-Air Europa Express has signed a four and half year lease deal with British Aerospace Asset Management Turboprops for a sixth BAe ATP.

-Singapore Airlines (SIA) has completed the sale and leaseback of another Boeing 747-400 in the fifth such deal brokered by Babcock & Brown. The aircraft was reportedly sold to a US consortium of investors, Sansome Partners VII, which will lease it to SIA for just over seven years. Meanwhile, SIA's associate, Singapore Aircraft Leasing Enterprise (SALE), has recently provided financing for a Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777-200ER, China Xinhua 737-400 and two Middle East Airlines A310-200s purchased from SIA.

-TAP Air Portugal has placed orders for two A321s, for delivery in the second half of 2000.

-Brit Air has ordered six more Bombardier 50-seat Canadair Regional Jet (CRJ) series 100s, plus two 70-seat CRJ-700s, bringing its total CRJ orders to 24.
