-Continental Airlines has taken delivery of its first of 28 Boeing 737-800s.

-Airtours International has confirmed its order for two additional Rolls-Royce Trent 700-powered A330-200s, bringing its orders for the type to four. The second batch will be delivered in the fourth quarter of 1999 for operation by Airtours' Danish division, Premiair.

-Indian start-up carrier Stallion Airlines has concluded a deal with Fairchild Dornier for five 19-seat Metro 23s. The airline is aiming to launch services by the end of the third quarter of 1998.

-C-S Aviation Services has placed a third Airbus A300B4 freighter with HeavyLift Cargo Airlines. The ex-Air France aircraft will be delivered in October, following conversion by British Aerospace Aviation Services.

-Debonair will introduce a British Aerospace 146-200 on lease from National Jet Systems in August.

-Hainan Airlines of China has taken delivery of two new Boeing 737-800s on lease from International Lease Finance (ILFC).

-Triton Aviation Services has bought eight Canadian Airlines International Boeing 737-200s from PLM International and two Air France 737-200s from SecPac Lease Finance.

-The Memphis Group says it is in the process of breaking up a "substantial number" of Boeing 737-200s at its Memphis plant for spares.

-Pantanal of Brazil has taken delivery of an ex-CityFlyer Express ATR 42-320 on a three-year lease in a deal arranged by Fortis Prop Jet.

-Indian Airlines has leased an ex-Philippine Airlines A300B4 from GE Capital Aviation Services.

-Air France has concluded an agreement to lease two GE GE90-powered Boeing 777-200ERs and five CFM International CFM56-5-powered Airbus A319s from ILFC. The 777s will be delivered in March and May 1999 on five-year leases, while the A319s begin arriving in January on six-year leases.

-Atlas Air has placed its second Boeing 747-400 Freighter on wet-lease with Cargolux.
