-Debis AirFinance has confirmed its order for two A319s, which will increase its Airbus fleet to a total of 22, including aircraft on order. Debis recently acquired two new Pratt & Whitney PW4000-powered A330-200s from Korean Air, the first of which has been delivered to the airline, while the second will follow later this month. Both aircraft are on 10-year leases.

-Hawaiian Airlines is in negotiations to purchase two McDonnell Douglas DC-10-30s to operate new services from Los Angeles to Maui and Kona next March. The aircraft will be acquired in additon to the 10 DC-10-10s it already operates on services linking Hawaii with the US mainland.

-Hapag-Lloyd has exercised five of its eight options for the Boeing 737-800. The deal takes its firm orders for the model to 21.

-International Airline Support Group (IASG) is to purchase 20 Stage 3 hushkitted McDonnell Douglas DC-9-41s from SAS, under a sale/leaseback deal. The DC-9s will remain with SAS for about three years and will be phased as new Next Generation Boeing 737s arrive. Although IASG is a parting-out specialist, the DC-9s are expected to be retained for onward lease.

-Royal Jordanian Airlines will introduce an ex-SAETA General Electric CF6-80C2-powered Airbus A310-300 on three-year lease from International Lease Finance (ILFC) in October.

-Singapore Airlines has sold two A310-200s, one to the Royal Belgian Air Force and the other to an undisclosed customer. The airline operates four A310-200s and 17 -300s, but is planning to phase out the type out of its fleet by 2002.

-ILFC has ordered nine Boeing 737-800s, for delivery fom 2001, six 757-200s for delivery from 1999, one 767-300ER for delivery in 2001 and one 777-200ER for delivery in 1999.

-Mexicana has added two ex-Sempati Fokker 100s from GPA Fokker on five year lease.

-Estonian Air is adding a third Boeing 737-500 on lease from major shareholder Maersk Air.
