-Pan American has added a fourth Boeing 727-200 to its fleet to expand charter operations. The airline is now examining the possibility of resuming scheduled operations next year.

-Qantas has found a buyer for its fleet of four 16/17-year-old Airbus A300B4s - the A300 freighter leasing company Pinnacle Air Cargo Enterprises. The four aircraft will be converted for cargo by Daimler-Benz Aerospace Airbus.

-Cauf Lipman has purchased a 10-year-old Boeing 737-300 from Indigo Aviation. Transbrasil operates the aircraft.

-US charter start-up Winair is leasing three 737-400s from Turkish charter airline Pegasus Airlines for six months from November.

-Malev Hungarian Airlines is boosting its Boeing 737 fleet to 14 with the acquisition of two ex-Hapag Lloyd 737-500s on five-year leases.

-Varig Brazil has concluded a deal with Boeing to lease four ex-Garuda MD-11s. All four aircraft will be delivered by the end of the year.

-New Thailand-based domestic carrier Angel Air has launched operations with a Boeing 737-500 leased from Malaysia Airlines, as well as a Fairchild Dornier 328 turboprop and a Raytheon Beechjet.

-Cathay Pacific has put three Rolls-Royce RB211-powered Boeing 747-200s, which it is seeking to dispose of, into storage in California.

-Deliveries of the six MD-11 freighters recently ordered by Lufthansa Cargo will extend into 2001. Boeing had previously planned to cease production of the tri-jet in 2000.

-Air Europa has confirmed its deal for six more British Aerospace ATPs. The six ex-British Airways aircraft will be delivered between September and next April on six-year leases, boosting the Spanish regional's ATP fleet to 12 aircraft. Meanwhile, Swedish cargo carrier West Air is to acquire the two ex-Biman Bangladesh Airlines ATPs.

-BAe Asset Management Turboprops has placed three Jetstream 32EPs with Swedish regional Highland Air.
