-Boullioun Aviation Services has ordered three Boeing 737-300s, to increase its orderbook with the manufacturer to 63. The -300s will be delivered in the second half of 1999.

-Varig has leased a Boeing 737-700 from GE Capital Aviation Services.

-French charter airline Euralair will take delivery of the first of two Boeing 737-800s this month on lease from US lessor GATX B737-800 Partners. The second will be delivered in January 1999. The 189-seat aircraft will be operated on the airline's routes to Mediterranean and African points.

-City Bird, the Belgian low-cost carrier, has confirmed its contract with Airbus for two new A300-600 freighters. The General Electric CF6-80C2-powered aircraft, originally completed as -600Cs against a now lapsed Kuwait Airways contract, will be delivered in mid-1999.

-Air Jamaica is to lease an Airbus A340-300 from Air Mauritius for its long haul services, with delivery due next May. The 301-seater will enable the carrier to boost its transatlantic capacity, replacing 198-seat Airbus A310-300s.

-Singapore Airlines has been unable to find any buyers for three of its six 747-300s, so the aircraft will be put into storage in Arizona when they leave service this month.

-Jersey European Airways is to introduce 50-seat regional jets for its summer 1999 programme, as it expands its Air France franchise. The airline says it is evaluating the 50-seaters to operate a new Air France franchise between Glasgow and Paris Charles de Gaulle. An Embraer RJ-145 and probably a Canadair Regional Jet will be wet leased for the new route, to enable the airline to evaluate each type in service.

-Aerolineas Argentinas' six A340-200/300s are ex-Philippine Airlines aircraft being acquired through Airbus Asset Management. The airline will begin taking delivery of the four -200s and two -300s next March, as part of its deal which includes six A340-600s due from 2004.
