Augsburg Airways has moved on plans to order Bombardier Dash 8Q-400s, with a deal for five aircraft, including two options (Flight International, 17-23 February). Deliveries will take place in mid-2000. Alitalia regional subsidiary Alitalia Express has ordered three ATR 72-500s for delivery between July and December, to replace three ATR 42s. Airtours' new German subsidiary, Fly FTI, will launch services in May with three Airbus A320s transferred from the UK division. Pegasus Aviation has purchased four aircraft from GE Capital Aviation Services, including a seven-year-old Pratt & Whitney PW4056-powered Boeing 767-300ER leased to Aviance, a 1989 Boeing 737-300 leased to TAP Air Portugal, and two Boeing MD-83s leased to Air Liberté (1986-build) and Spanair (1988-build). The company expects the deal to generate $14 million in annual lease revenues. Korean Air (KAL) has confirmed that it firmed up options last year on three Pratt & Whitney PW4000-powered Airbus A330-300s for delivery in 2000. TransAer has placed three Airbus A320s on a six- month damp lease (TransAer provides flightdeck crews) with Britannia Airways, beginning in May. TransAer undertook a similar contract for the UK charter airline last year. Emirates has taken delivery of the first of 17 Rolls-Royce Trent 772B-powered Airbus A330-200s, which will gradually replace the airline's Airbus A300/A310s through to 2002. German lessor Germania has purchased seven Crossair-operated Boeing MD-80s from Flightlease in a deal arranged by IAMG. The aircraft are being leased back to Crossair on five-year terms. TAME of Ecuador has added two ex-Istanbul Airlines Boeing 727-200Advs in a deal arranged by Gamit. Air Europa has sold its 10 Boeing 737-800 orders to lessor ITOCHU AirLease, and arranged to take the aircraft on operating lease, between April 1999 and November 2000.
