Boeing has delivered the last 737-500 on firm order, leaving just 26 examples of the 737 "Classic" models (-300/400/500) to be delivered this year. The last -500 was handed over to Air France on lease from Pembroke Capital. Boeing has built 387 737-500s since deliveries began in 1990. CityFlyer Express has placed an order for an eighth British Aerospace Avro RJ100, for delivery in the second quarter of 2000. Novair is finalising a deal to sell and lease back its 26-year-old Lockheed L-1011 TriStar 1 which has been in storage at Stockholm Arlanda. The aircraft will re-enter service in June following overhaul by Gulf Aircraft Maintenance in Abu Dhabi. UK low-fare airline Debonair has completed the first outright purchase of an aircraft, a British Aerospace 146-200 which has been on operating lease from US Airways, with financing from Finova Capital. Dublin-based CityJet has acquired an ex-Titan Airways BAe 146-200 on lease from an Irish leasing company in a deal arranged by Cabot Aviation. Airborne Express is acquiring five Pratt & Whitney JT9D-powered Boeing 767-200s from GE Capital. The 767s, leased to Trans World Airlines, will be delivered this year and next, and the carrier has the option to take a sixth aircraft in 2000. Indigo Aviation has purchased two nine-year-old Boeing MD-82s leased to Reno Air, from EDS Capital Markets. It has also leased a 1992 737-300 to Frontier Airlines. The aircraft had been leased via Maersk Air to Deutsche BA. Midway Airlines has confirmed options for three Canadair Regional Jet Series 200s, boosting its firm orders to 26. Aviation Capital Group (ACG) has acquired a Boeing 737-300QC, on lease to l'Aeropostale. ACG has also acquired a Boeing 727-200Adv, which will be leased to a US cargo airline for eight years A second modified 727-200Adv will be delivered to the airline in May. ACG has also signed a letter of intent to acquire three Airbus A320s on lease to two airlines.
