Oman Air has taken delivery of its first of two ex-Swissair Airbus A310-300s, leased from International Lease Finance (ILFC). The Pratt & Whitney JT9D-powered aircraft are scheduled to be replaced by two younger, PW4000-powered A310-300s leased from ILFC later this year. China Northwest Airlines has leased two CFM International CFM56-5-powered Airbus A320s from ILFC. AirLanka will add an ex-Gulf Air Airbus A340-300 on lease from Airbus in July on seven year lease. The aircraft was most recently leased to Sabena. UK-based charter airline Titan Airways has concluded a deal with Ansett Worldwide Aviation Services to lease a four-year old Boeing 737-300, which is being delivered during June. The aircraft will be based at London Stansted and offered for wet-lease. Royal Air Maroc has taken delivery of its first of two Boeing 737-700s it has on order. The airline already operates two 737-800s, and has five more on order. Canadian Airlines has sold and leased back two of its 10 McDonnell Douglas DC-10-30s to US lessor Pegasus Aviation, until mid-1999. The aircraft are being replaced by two leased 767-300ERs that entered service earlier this year. Canadian will replace two more DC-10s early next year with two new leased 767-300ERs, that are due for delivery in the fourth quarter. US carrier Tradewinds Airlines has ceased passenger-carrying operations and returned its four Lockheed L-1011 TriStar 1/200s to lessor Interlease Aviation. Cargo services are continuing with a single TriStar 1 freighter. US start-up New Air has selected the International Aero Engines V2500-A5 to power 75 A320s it recently ordered. Belgium's Cargo Lyon has signed a letter of intent to acquire two ex-British Airways DC-10-30s, with deliveries scheduled for delivery in November this year and July next year, following conversion by Aeronavali.
