Lufthansa has ordered eight more Airbus A340-300s and three CFM International CFM56-powered A320s for delivery between 2001 and 2004. Options have been taken on a further six A340-300s. Swiss cargo carrier Farnair Europe has acquired three Fokker F27 Mk 500s from TAM Brazil. TACA has taken delivery of the first of up to 21 International Aero Engines V2500-powered Airbus A319s, which the El Salvador-based carrier will operate in a 120-seat configuration. PB Air of Bangkok is seeking buyers for its Fairchild Dornier 328-110 and has appointed Aircraft Leasing and Management to remarket the aircraft. The three-year-old aircraft is being disposed of as the airline upgrades its fleet with three ex-SAS Fokker F28 Mk4000s. Delta Shuttle will begin retiring its 14 Boeing 727-200s from next July, and will replace the ageing trijets with 16 new Boeing 737-800s.
