++ Montreal-based Royal Airlines has sold two Boeing 727s to Texan leasing company Aircorp for C$10 million ($7.25 million), to help pay for three Airbus A310-300s. The carrier still operates five 727s, as well as two Lockheed L-1011 TriStars. ++ Boeing has delivered its 757th 757, a Pratt & Whitney PW2000-powered example for International Lease Finance. It is being leased to Trans World Airlines. A total of 868 757s have been sold to 47 operators. ++ Egypt Air has taken delivery of the first of four Airbus A321s, which will be used on non-stop services to Europe as well as within the region. The aircraft, which are powered by International Aero Engines V2500 engines, will typically accommodate ten passengers in business class and 175 in economy. Deliveries of the A320 family now stand at some 670 aircraft to more than 60 customers. ++ Middle East Airlines (MEA) will introduce an ex-Qatar Airways Airbus A310-200 on lease in September, and an ex-Yemenia -200 in November. Both aircraft, which are leased from Airbus (Flight International, 7-13 May), are Pratt & Whitney JT9D-7R4 powered. Meanwhile the first of three ex-MEA Boeing 747-200 Combis, which are being converted to full freight configuration, has been delivered to the US freight carrier American International Airways, in a deal arranged by Fortis Aviation. The second aircraft will be delivered in August, and the third in September. ++ Fortis Aviation has arranged the sale of an ex-Arkia Israeli Airlines, 1975-built Boeing 737-200 with LAN Chile. The aircraft was previously leased by Arkia to the Chilean airline Ladeco. ++ Virgin Express has leased one of the six ex-Lufthansa Boeing 737-400s from new owner Adrienne Enterprises. ++ AlliedSignal Engines has been selected to supply its 36-300-4 auxiliary power unit by Zhejiang Airlines for five A320s it has on order, and for a similar number of A320s for TACA.
