Debis AirFinance has selected the CFM International CFM56 to power 10 of the 30 Airbus A320 family aircraft it has on order. Martinair has taken delivery of a Rolls-Royce RB211-powered Boeing 757-200 on a four-year lease from ING Lease International Management Equipment. Negotiations are under way for a second example. Turkish flag carrier THY has extended leases on five Avro RJ100 jetliners in a contract with the asset management arm of BAE Systems. Polar Air Cargo has signed a lease deal with GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS) for five Boeing 747-400 Freighters and is seeking additional 747-200Fs to supplement the new fleet. The five General Electric CF6-powered 747-400Fs will be delivered between next October and 2002. Asiana will take delivery of a new International Aero Engines V2500-powered Airbus A321 in the fourth quarter of this year, on lease from the CIT Group. Futura International Airways has received its first new Boeing 737-800, leased from GECAS. SkyWest Airlines has placed a firm order with Bombardier for 20 more Canadair Regional Jet (CRJ) Series 200s, valued at $470 million. The airline has also acquired another 20 options. Varig is finalising deals for the lease of four 737-800s, two each from Sunrock Aircraft and GATX 737-800 Partners, for delivery in mid-2000. LTU International Airways has completed the sale and lease back of 11 of its 15 Rolls-Royce RB211-powered Boeing 757-200s in a deal with Miami-based UniCapital. Three of the aircraft have been sold on by UniCapital to an unspecified but unrelated aircraft operating lessor. Air France has concluded a lease deal with International Lease Finance (ILFC) for four General Electric CF6-80E1-powered Airbus A330-200s, plus two options, for delivery in 2002-2003. Israeli private airline Arkia has ordered a fourth ATR 72-500 regional jet and placed an option for a fifth example of the type.
