Channel Express is acquiring an ex-Lufthansa Boeing 737-300QC (passenger/freighter quickchange) which it will introduce in May on European services from a base at London Stansted. Atlanta, Georgia-based charter carrier Trans-Meridian Airlines has leased two additional Boeing 727-200Advs from Pegasus Aviation. Royal Air Maroc has ordered 10 Boeing 737-700/800s, confirming a decision first made late last year. British World Airlines is seeking to sell or lease its two five year old ATR72-200s, with the aircraft available for delivery late this year. Aircraft Leasing & Management has been contracted to dispose of the aircraft, which are currently leased to BA's Gatwick-based regional, CityFlyer Express. Abu Dhabi-based Oasis International Leasing has purchased a second Malaysia Airlines (MAS) Boeing 777-200ER from Singapore Aircraft Leasing Enterprise. MAS has leased the Rolls-Royce Trent 800-powered aircraft back for 10 years. Central America's TACA Group has also completed two purchase/lease-back deals involving two Airbus A320s with Pegasus. The US lessor has completed a similar deal with Finnair for one Boeing MD-82 and twoMD-83s. Boeing delivered 122airliners in the first quarter, including seven 717s, seventy-two 737s, seven 747s, eight 757s, 10 767s, 16 777s and the final two MD-11s. The US manufacturer has also taken orders for nine General Electric CF6-powered 767-300s from an undisclosed customer. German charter carrier LTU has ordered two CFM International CFM56-powered Airbus A321s, as part of its plans to move to an all-Airbus fleet. The Dusseldorf-based charter arm of SAirGroup will receive the new aircraft in the summer of 2003. Hawaiian Airlines is to lease three new Boeing 767-300ERs from Ansett Worldwide between October and December to replace three of its McDonnell DouglasDC-10-30s.
