Kenya Airways has sold one of its Airbus A310-300s to GE Capital Aviation Services and returned another A310, which it had taken on short lease last year, to Airbus. Meanwhile, domestic subsidiary Flamingo is to acquire a third Saab 340B and is finalising negotiations. CIT Aerospace has confirmed the placement of a new Rolls-Royce Trent 772B-powered Airbus A330-200 with Spanish charter carrier Iberworld Airlines, for delivery in the second quarter of 2002. Israeli private airline Israir has leased a Boeing 737-800 from Sterling for its summer operations. Iberia has retired its last McDonnell Douglas DC-9 after 34 years of operation, with a flight from Palma de Majorca to Madrid. The airline's 25 remaining DC-9s are in storage awaiting sale.
