Kiev-based Aerosvit Airlines has taken delivery of an ex-Scandinavian Airlines, Pratt & Whitney PW4000-powered Boeing 767-300ER leased from Boeing Capital. The aircraft will be the first Western-build widebody airliner to be operated in Ukraine. The 350-seater will be operated from Kiev to points in North America and South-East Asia. Kalitta Air has purchased two Boeing 747-200 Special Freighters which were formerly owned by China Airlines in a deal arranged by Focus Aviation. UK operator Highland Airways has acquired an ex-American Eagle ATR 42-300 in a deal arranged by Magellan Air. The aircraft will be operated as a freighter. Meanwhile, Magellan Air has delivered two ex-Schreiner Airways ATR 72-200s to Danish carrier Cimber Air and extended the lease on an ATR 42-300. Condor is to withdraw six of its 13 Boeing 757-300s because of the overcapacity in the German charter market.
One of Boeing’s largest customers has warned that the imposition of tariffs on aircraft or their parts would be counterproductive for the airframer and the US economy.
