++ China Southern Airlines has taken delivery of its first General Electric GE90-powered Boeing 777-200IGW, which brings its 777 fleet to five aircraft. Late this year, the airline will become the first to operate the 777 across the Pacific, on the 12,560km (6,800nm) route between Guangzhou and Los Angeles. ++ Garuda Indonesia is discussing converting its final three orders for Airbus Industrie A330-300s to longer-range -200 versions. The Rolls-Royce Trent 700-powered aircraft are scheduled for delivery in 1998/9, provided that the airline can secure financing. ++ Croatia Airlines has selected the CFM International CFM56-5B/P to power six Airbus A319s on firm order and six A319/A320/A321s on option, in an engine order valued at $150 million. ++ Jersey European Airways is in negotiation for the lease of two additional British Aerospace 146-200s to take its turbofan fleet to 11 aircraft. The airline has expanded its UK regional network with new services from Birmingham to Paris and Glasgow. ++ SAETA has concluded the lease of two ex-Northwest Airlines Boeing 727-200 Adv from Airlease Finance in a deal arranged by Fortis Aviation. The aircraft will replace 737-200s being returned off lease. ++ BAe Asset Management Turboprops has delivered the first of three Jetstream 31s to Inglis Aircraft of Nelson, New Zealand. They are the first of the type to be operated in the country. The first aircraft, which is ex-Simmons Airlines, is configured for ten passengers, while the other two will seat 18. ++ United Airlines has introduced its first two converted MDC DC-10-30 freighters, on all-cargo services from Los Angeles via Anchorage to the Pacific Rim. Two more DC-10-30Fs will be delivered in late 1997, after conversion by Alenia. ++ BAe Asset Management Jets has sold a BAe 146-200QC to the lessee Titan Airways, bringing to five the number of 146s sold from the portfolio since November and worth $57 million in revenue. ++ GB Airways has ordered two Boeing 737-300s for delivery in early 1998, replacing 737-200s.
