NASA engineers at Houston's Johnson Space Center, in Texas have tested equipment capable of extracting oxygen from the Martian carbon-dioxide atmosphere in preparation for the flight of the Mars In-Situ Propellant Production Precursor aboard the Mars Surveyor 2001 lander.
