Malaysia Airlines intends to increase frequencies on the Kuala Lumpur-Seoul and Kuala Lumpur-Taipei routes.
Effective 17 September, Malaysia Airlines will add an additional flight on the KL-Seoul route, bringing its weekly flights on the route to six.
Effective 1 October, an additional direct flight will be added on the KL-Taipei route, bringing the carrier's weekly direct services on the route to six. MAS also has seven indirect services on the route, transiting in Kota Kinabalu.
On the KL-Seoul route, MAS operates Airbus A330-300 aircraft; on KL-Taipei it operates Boeing 737-800s; and on KL-KK-Taipei it operates 737-400s.
"Demand for air travel to North Asian destinations is picking up," says MAS GM, network & revenue management Amin Khan. "Both Seoul and Taipei have shown growth and the year end loads are up compared to last year. "We believe that this is the beginning of air travel recovery. We are starting to see more leisure travel and we expect business travel to pick up as well."
