Saudi Arabia’s leading business aviation charter and fractional ownership company, National Air Services (NAS), has placed a $500 million pre-purchase agreement for 20 Dassault Falcon 2000LXs.

The order consists of four firm orders plus an option for 16 more, and will be finalised this summer. This is one of the largest business jet orders in the country, with deliveries scheduled to start in the third quarter of 2008, through the next six years.

“We are very proud to have been chosen by NAS and are confident that this addition to their current fleet will help them meet the growing demand for private aviation in the region,” says John Rosanvallon, president and ceo, Dassault Falcon Jet. “Only one month after the official launch of the 2000LX programme, NAS order shows the great potential of our new aircraft in the large cabin business jets’ segment.”

“The 2000LX is ideally suited to the Middle East market,” says Taher Agueel, NAS’s president.
“The range increase will give our customers more capability and efficiency on their typical trips.” The next evolution of its best-selling 2000 family, Dassault’s 2000LX can fly an extra 200nm up to 4,000nm at Mach 0.80, and climb to 41,000ft in 18min. The company teamed with Aviation Partners and added winglets, which reduce drag by up to 5%, thus increasing range and cutting fuel consumption.
