AIRCRAFT manufacturers are moving to upgrade training for Chinese airlines. McDonnell Douglas (MDC) has ordered a Vital ChromaView visual-system from FlightSafety International to upgrade an MD-82 simulator operated by China Northern Airlines. In January, MDC ordered a ChromaView visual to upgrade a China Eastern MD-82 simulator.

Thomson Training & Simulation (TTS), meanwhile, has confirmed the sale of two full-flight simulators to Airbus Industrie, one of which will be installed in the manufacturer's new Beijing training centre in late 1996. The other will be installed at Aeroformation in Toulouse, France, in late 1998. The Level D A320 and A330/A340 simulators will be equipped with Evans & Sutherland visual systems.

An MDC MD-90 autoflight-systems trainer built by TTS has entered service with Japan Air System (JAS). TTS is building an MD-90 full-flight simulator which will be delivered to JAS' training centre, at Tokyo's Haneda Airport, in mid-1996.
