Dassault's Falcon 2000S is making its Middle East debut at the show, where the French airframer is keen to highlight the super-midsize business jet's "better-than-projected" performance specifications.
"An 18-month test programme spanning 350 flight hours over 150 flights demonstrated better-than-expected low-speed performance," says Dassault. "Landing distance at typical landing weight has been reduced to 705m [2,310ft] from 792m, approach speed to 107kt (198km/h) and balanced field length to 1,318m," it continues.
Dassault is confident its entry-level product will be well received in the Middle East, notably by operators who are looking for a business jet to complement its large cabin, long-range fleet. "The performance of this aircraft is remarkable," says Dassault Falcon chief executive John Rosanvallon. "Customers will enjoy the cabin, range and speed of a high-performance large-cabin business jet but with airport performance usually reserved for a typical turboprop aircraft."
The 2000S was launched in May 2011 and Dassault says it has built up a backlog "equivalent to a year's production". Certification and service entry are scheduled for next year.
