Sabena Technics (stand 620) has won a contract from an undisclosed Middle East VIP operator to perform cabin modifications on two Airbus A320s and a single A318, as well as to install satellite communications systems.
The work will be carried out at Sabena's completion centre in Bordeaux, France. The company says the installation of the satellite broadband (SBB) systems "with the aggregation of up to four SBB channels to ensure maximum in-flight bandwidth... is a first for A320 aircraft". For the smaller A318 Sabena will also install Live TV and a humidifier, neither of which has previously been fitted to this type of aircraft, Sabena adds.
