Meggitt has entered 2006 “well placed to take advantage of the sustained recovery in the large civil jet market and associated aftermarket”, according to chief executive Terry Twigger. The company saw its 2005 turnover climb 29% year-on-year to £616.3 million ($1.08 billion). “Military markets continue to be attractive,” he adds. Pre-tax profits rose by a quarter to £88.1 million. The company’s aerospace division, which accounts for nearly three-quarters of its total sales, closed the year with revenues up 36% at £458.6 million.
