Award of a contract to Boeing to upgrade US Navy E-6 Mercury command and control aircraft with a "glass" cockpit, based on that in the Next Generation 737, has been held up by a protest from Raytheon. Boeing hopes that a similar upgrade of US and allied E-3 Sentrys will follow.
