<LI> UK-based aerospace and electronics group Meggitt is to acquire Texas-based S-TEC and S-TEC Unmanned Technologies (SUTI) for $24.2 million, plus $2.8 million in debt. S-TEC, a supplier of new and retrofitted autopilots, will form part of Meggitt Aerospace Systems, bolstering its general aviation cockpit avionics capability, known as Magic. SUTI makes unmanned air vehicles (UAVs) and will be folded into Meggitt Defence Systems, complementing its range of Spectre UAVs. Regulatory approval is expected by early May.
<LI> Training systems and datalink specialist Cubic of San Diego has purchased simulation and combat training company Applied Data Technology from Ogden. Both are based in San Diego.
<LI> Thomson Travel, parent of UK charter carrier Britannia Airways, says it will reject C&N's improved takeover bid of £1.45 per share, but says its financial advisers will meet the German company to explain its decision. Thomson described an initial £1.30 per share offer as "wholly inadequate".
<LI> Britax International of the UK is buying US aircraft outfitter Bellingham from Hexcel for $116.9 million.
