John Menzies is buying the ground-handling operations of Ogden Aviation Services in a £78 million ($118 million) cash deal. The business will become part of Menzies Aviation Group. The deal is subject to regulatory approval and is expected to close in September. Carlyle Group has completed the purchase of Northrop Grumman's commercial aerostructures business in a $1.2 billion deal, renaming it Vought Aircraft Industries. Perceptronics has completed the sale of its PGTS training simulator operation to California-based aircraft simulator manufacturer Eidetics. Polymer specialist M A Hanna is selling its Richmond Aircraft Products unit to European aerospace/defence distribution provider UMECO. Richmond Aircraft distributes films, bagging materials and structural foam used in aerospace parts manufacture. Triumph has acquired aerospace parts and assemblies manufacturer ChemFab and repair and overhaul company Airborne Nacelle Services. The ventures, both of Hot Springs, Arkansas, will be merged into Triumph's Structural Components group which designs, manufactures and overhauls components.
