The UK's Dowty Group has bought GE Aircraft Engines subsidiary Tri-Manufacturing for $58 million. The Indiana-based aero-engine components fabricator will be incorporated into TI Group member Dowty's Turbine Engine Components (D-TEC) business. HeavyLift Cargo Airlines, the world's largest outsized-freight operator, has been acquired in a management buyout which values its parent group at $23.75 million. London Stansted-based Airbus A300, Ilyushin Il-76 and Antonov An-12 operator HeavyLift, which offers the An-124 in a joint venture with Russia's Volga-Dnepr, was previously owned by Norwegian engineering group Kvaerner. Stork, the Dutch technology group, has bought the 43% stake in Belgian maintenance and aerostructures company SABCA formerly controlled by the receivers of bankrupt Fokker Aircraft. The NLG60 million ($30 million) paid represents a discount of 25% on the original asking price. United Technologies' Hamilton Standard division is to buy the aerospace heat transfer and fluids management business of IMI Marston for $26 million. The company, in Wolverhampton, UK, will trade as HS Marston Aerospace. Lufthansa's GlobeGround subsidiary has completed its $134 million takeover of US airport services provider Hudson General. Dallas-based Kitty Hawk, the world's largest non-integrated air cargo carrier, has purchased the 40% stake in American International Cargo previously held by Pacific Aviation Logistics, giving it full ownership of the transpacific freight airline. Delta Air Lines has completed its purchase of US regional carrier Atlantic Southeast Airlines, having taken control of 91% of ASA stock. Canada's Spar Aerospace has agreed to sell its space robotics division - maker of the Space Shuttle's robot arm - to a unit of Orbital Sciences for C$60 million ($40 million) in a move aimed at resisting a takeover by IMP Group.
