American Airlines - due to complete its $124 million merger with Reno Air on 31 August - is to meet a private mediator and negotiators from the Allied Pilots Association this week to resolve a dispute over the integration of Reno pilots. A tentative agreement struck in July proved unacceptable to both parties. Ogden Aviation has bought a 49% stake in Aeroporti di Roma Handling from the airport's operator ADR, which retains majority control. The UK's Serco Group has agreed to acquire DaimlerChrysler Aerospace's Elekluft Elektronik and Luftfahrtgeräte businesses for DM53 million ($30 million). The former provides engineering services to German military and aerospace customers. Italian maintenance and modifications specialist Aeronavali, a division of Finmeccanica subsidiary Alenia, has taken over fellow-subsidiary Agusta's Lockheed Martin C-130H overhaul business in Brindisi. HEICO's Flight Support Group has acquired privately held Thermal Structures and its Quality Honeycomb affiliate for $29 million cash and the assumption of $4 million of debt. Its Electronics and Ground Support Group has, meanwhile, bought electromagnetic and radio frequency shielding equipment specialist Leader Tech. Heico has also bought 40% of R H Phillips of the UK, a producer of aircraft ground support equipment. Thomson-CSF Optrosys has acquired the electro-optics business unit of AlliedSignal Aerospatiale Canada. Cabin installations specialist DeCrane Aircraft Holdings has bought Custom Woodwork & Plastics, also of the USA, a manufacturer of corporate aircraft interior furniture. Banca di Roma has agreed to sell a 75% stake in Italian military software specialist Datamat to a group of managers. The UK's 3i group has funded the deal. Pratt & Whitney is to move its military jet engine business from Florida to Connecticut as part of a restructuring programme.
