CHC Helicopter's has completed the sale of non-core UK operations to a new company, British International. The £33 million ($49 million) deal involves eight helicopters, a scheduled passenger service in Cornwall, Ministry of Defence operations in the UK and the Falklands and a light helicopter operation in Wales Precision Castparts is to acquire the assets of UEF Aerospace, the aerospace division of United Engineering Forgings, in a deal valued at about $34 million. UEF Aerospace will become a division of Wyman-Gordan, trading under the name Wyman-Gordan Lincoln, manufacturing forged engine discs, engine shafts, and airframe and landing gear components. Smiths Industries has bought Florida RF Labs, a US supplier of microwave resistor products and cable assemblies, for $25.8 million in cash, which includes the freehold of land and buildings occupied by the company. Primex Technologies is to acquire the bi-propellant rocket engine and related businesses of Kaiser Marquardt, a subsidiary of Kasier Aerospace & Electronics, for $22.5 million, subject to certain post closing adjustments. Omani investment group Zawawi has completed its purchase of UK utility aircraft specialist Britten-Norman. Dallas-based handling company Worldwide Flight Services has acquired Oxford Airport Technical Services, a specialist in servicing airport equipment, including boarding bridges. Worldwide recently acquired Miami Aircraft Support and Aerolink. Quebec-based landing gear manufacturer Heroux is to acquire Canadian component manufacturer Devtek in a cash-and-stock deal. The combined company will employ 1,300 people in Canada and the USA and have annual sales of over $220 million. DeCrane Aircraft Holdings has completed the purchase of New Albany, Indiana-based Carl F Booth, the leading supplier of wood veneer products for the corporate aircraft industry.
