United Technologies has completed its acquisition of the engine maintenance centre of Braathens airline, which will become part of Pratt & Whitney Engine Services. Renamed the P&W Norway Engine Centre, it specialises in overhaul and repair of CFM56 engines. The acquisition establishes a European engine overhaul presence for P&W to complement its North American and Asian operations. HEICO's Flight Support Group has acquired Florida-based Future Aviation, an aircraft accessory component repair and overhaul company, for $14 million. The acquisition expands HEICO's repair and overhaul capabilities, and offers potential operating synergies. E-commerce aerospace aftermarket distribution company, LKD Aerospace, is to acquire Canadian-based distributor of rotable products, BMR Aviation. Bofors subsidiary Celsius has sold its Bofors Weapon System operations to United Defense of the USA. Quebec-based Heroux is to acquire component manufacturer Devtek. Upon completion of the deal, which is subject to regulatory approval, the continuing entity will be named Heroux-Devtek. Heroux specialises in the design, development, manufacture and repair of aerospace and industrial products. The Exxtor Group, owner of Guernsey-based airline Aurigny Air Services, has sold the carrier to a management group comprising personnel from Aurigny, Anglo Normandy Aeroengineering and Exxtor. DeCrane Aircraft Holdings is to acquire seating specialist ERDA, which has plants in Wisconsin and Mexico. ERDA will join El Segundo, California-based DeCrane's Cabin Management group, which supplies complete interior kits for corporate aircraft. Aerocontracts and B&K Resins have merged to create a consumables distribution business, Aeropia. The new business, a subsidiary of UMECO, is a provider of distribution services to the aerospace and defence industries.
