Honeywell (booth 406) has licensed Arinc corporate aviation subsidiary Arinc Direct (booth 1473) to provide datalink messaging to and from aircraft equipped with the Primus Epic integrated cockpit.
Typical applications will include flightplan and graphical weather uplinks and operational and maintenance messaging. Arinc Direct’s licence also covers the development of its own datalink-based services.
Until now Primus Epic users have received datalink services through Honeywell’s own global data centre in Redmond, Washington. “Enabling Arinc Direct also to offer datalink services to Primus Epic and other Honeywell platforms will increase the speed with which the industry advances in this area,” says Dave Smoley, vice-president aerospace database and information services at Honeywell Aerospace.
