Mettis Aerospace employees had as much reason as any to applaud the Airbus A380's flight from Le Bourget. The mega-jumbo carries an impressive range of products manufactured and supplied by Mettis from its UK facility.
Years of product development went into Mettis's involvement on the A380. The company supplied large aerostructure parts forged in high strength titanium alloys for critical applications, including pylon and flap drive assemblies, complex manifolds for high pressure aileron and elevator actuation equipment and precision-forged aerofoils for fan and compressor applications.
