A Mongolian Airlines Harbin Y-12 turboprop crashed on 10 June, killing seven of the 12 passengers and crew aboard. The twin-engined aircraft crashed while trying to land at Mandelgobi Airport, 280km (150nm) south of Mongolia's capital Ulan Bator. Witnesses report the aircraft crashing and exploding several hundred metres short of the runway.
