Midcoast Aviation is to construct a new $10.5 million, 10,700m2 (115,000ft2) hangar at its St Louis Downtown airport facility due to growth in the maintenance, completion and modification market for business jets. The move also supports the worldwide growth strategy of Midcoast parent Jet Aviation.
“Jet Aviation has committed to expanding its businesses throughout the world. Midcoast’s new hangar will help Jet Aviation achieve its goal, and it will allow Midcoast to continue to meet stringent turnaround times,” says Kurt Sutterer, Midcoast president.
The facility will feature two 80 x 40m (270 x 135ft) aircraft bays separated by 3,700m2 of supporting shop. The space will allow the Midcoast upholstery shop, now housed in another building, to be expanded.
