A military aircraft crashed into a building in the Ecuadorean capital Quito, killing at least seven people. The aircraft was on a training exercise when it slammed into the side of a four-floor building at about 1720 local time (2220 GMT) on Thursday 19 March.
News reports say that soldiers and civilians aboard the aircraft, a Beech Aircraft Corporation King Air 200, among the dead and two people on the ground were killed.
The aircraft, built in 1981 and owned by the Ecaudorian army, crashed in thick fog with smoke billowing from the building in a populated wealthy district in the north of the capital.
