G222/C-27 Spartan
Alenia and Lockheed Martin launched development of the C-27J derivative of the G222 during the 1997 Paris air show (see Lockheed Martin Alenia Tactical Transport Systems).
Production of the G222 twin-turboprop tactical transport, which had been ended early in 1989, was restarted after the aircraft was selected for the US Air Force's 10-aircraft C-27A programme.
