ATR 42/72

ATR continues to offer military derivatives of its ATR 42 and ATR 72 twin-turboprop regional airliners. Two ATR 42MP maritime patrol aircraft, equipped with ventral-mounted search radar, have been ordered by the Italian customs service. A proposed SAR variant of the ATR 42 would be fitted with a forward-looking infrared radar and television turret.

A military variant of the ATR 72, the ATR 52C, is being offered to meet intra-theatre transport requirements. This uses the ATR 72-100 airframe, but has rear clamshell- or ramp-type cargo doors and a strengthened cabin floor. A launch customer has yet to be secured.AVIOANE (formerly IAV Craiova)
