GULFSTREAM IV

Deliveries of modified Gulfstream IV business jets, designated U-4s, to the Japan Air Self-Defence Force began in early 1997 against a requirement for up to nine aircraft. The 18-passenger U-4 is equipped with a cargo door, which was developed for the US Navy/ Marine Corps C-20G version of the GIV. The Swedish air force operates two GIVs equipped as signals-intelligence aircraft and designated Tp102Bs.

GULFSTREAM V

Two Gulfstream V long-range business jets will be delivered to the USAF in 1998, as 12-passenger C-37As, part of a programme to replace Boeing C-137 VIP aircraft. The USAF has options on four more.

Both Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman have selected the GV as the basis of their bids for the UK's Airborne Stand-Off Radar programme.

The GV is powered by two 65.6kN BMW Rolls-Royce BR710s.
