PAC and China's NAMC continue to produce the K-8 Karkoram jet trainer. Deliveries of the first six aircraft to the Chinese and Pakistani air force began in 1994, with all six delivered by the end of 1996.
The aircraft is intended to replace the Shenyang FT-5 and Cessna T-37. China is also considering acquiring the aircraft to meet training requirements.
