BEECH KING AIR
Several variants of the Beech King Air twin-turboprop and Beech 1900 regional airliner have been produced for military use. Aircraft operated by the US services are designated C-12s and include 40 C-12Fs (King Air 200s) for the US Air Force and six C-12Js (1900Cs) for the US Air National Guard.
BEECHJET 400
Delivery of 180 T-1A Jayhawk tanker/transport trainers, based on the Beechjet 400A business jet, to the US Air Force was completed in September 1997. Japan has taken delivery of nine similar aircraft, designated T-400s.
HAWKER 800
Special-mission versions of the former British Aerospace Hawker 800 business jet include the search-and-rescue U-125A for the Japan Maritime Self-Defence Force, which plans to acquire 27 aircraft. The Japan Air Self-Defence Force already operates four U-125 flight-inspection aircraft. The US Air Force operates six similarly equipped Hawker 800s, as C-29As. South Korea has ordered four Hawker 800XPs equipped with the Hughes ASARS-1 synthetic-aperture radar, for surveillance.
T-6 TEXAN II
Raytheon FLew the first production T-6A in July 1998, and deliver the first of 712 Texan IIs for the US Air Force/Navy Joint Primary Aircraft Training System (JPATS) in November 1998. Bombardier Services has ordered 24 T-6A-1s for its NATO Flying Training in Canada programme, with deliveries to begin in November 1999, and Chile has signed a letter of intent for the aircraft.
Raytheon won the JPATS competition in 1995 with the Beech Pilatus PC-9 MkII, a development of the Pilatus PC-9 with uprated, 1,270kW Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-62 turboprop, pressurisation and other changes.
