A J Walter Aviation, the UK component supply and management business, has announced its entry into the military market with the acquisition of spare parts for the British Aerospace Harrier and Sea Harrier. The $48 million purchase consists of 16,000 lines from the UK Ministry of Defence.
The move is a natural progression as it already carries stocks of C130 Hercules and E3D AWACS components, which have military applications, say company officials, who also announced the purchase of the entire British Airways Tristar L-1011 inventory, comprising more than 7,000 items.
