A small helmet mount, the size of a postage stamp, is making its debut European appearance at Farnborough.

The active matrix electroluminescent display, which can also be used for weapon sights, is made by Planar Advance and can be seen in Hall 2/B17.

Also on display for the first time is a 15cm x 15cm active matrix LCD for head-down avionic applications. These will be going into the strike-fighter McDonnell Douglas F-18, AV-8B Harrier and the BAe Hawk.

At the same stand, US firm dpiX is showing two ultra-high resolution active matrix LCD colour and mono displays. These are used for photo interpretation for intelligence as well as advance mapping.
