Raytheon has been awarded an initial $45 million from the US Army to undertake an Atmospheric Interceptor Technology Test Bed programme, supporting endoatmospheric missile defence projects, including the Medium Extended Air Defense System and the Lockheed Martin Theater High Altitude Air Defense weapons. The US company expects to earn as much as $345 million if all the options are exercised.
