Unfortunately you chose to eliminate the word "purportedly" before the word "dismissed" in the first sentence of the second paragraph of my letter about Cathay Pacific pilots (Flight International, 9-15 September).
This is an important legal point. We - the "49ers" - do not accept these dismissals as lawful, and we are suing Cathay Pacific Airways in Hong Kong, the USA (California), Australia and the UK for this and other causes.
We believe that the attempt to dismiss us will not stand up in court, and that our "purported dismissals" will be found not just "downright immoral", but downright unlawful as well.
