The US Air Force's newly redesignated Fairchild A-10C made its debut flight on 20 January from Eglin AFB, Florida. The single-seat A-10C is the product of a Lockheed Martin-led $300 million upgrade to the A-10A. The twin-engined aircraft now has a precision-engagement capability, allowing it to deploy Boeing Joint Direct Attack Munitions and Lockheed Martin Wind Corrected Munitions Dispensers.
