Launches of the Russian Zenit medium-lift booster will be possible from the national Plesetsk Cosmodrome in 1996, following the construction of two new launch pads. The Zenit is now restricted to launches from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. One of the pads will also be available for a range of smaller boosters, while launches of the Proton booster are also planned.
