Airbus today released a selection of pictures of the Airbus A380 ultralarge airliner on test flights in Colombia.
The aircraft, MSN004, landed at Medellín's José María Córdova international airport, located in a small valley at an elevation of around 5,000ft (1,520 m), at 15:25 on 11 January following a 8,470km (4,580nm) flight from Toulouse with a crew of 35 flight test personnel.
En route the aircraft touched down on the French Caribbean island of Guadeloupe.
The aircraft has been undergoing engine behaviour tests at high altitude airfields and is thought to have travelled to other airports in the region. Airbus says the aim of such trials is to "validate full functionality of engines, systems and materials under difficult conditions".
