All the passengers of a hijacked EgyptAir Airbus A320, bar four, have been released from the aircraft, according to the carrier.
EgyptAir says that negotiations with the perpetrators have resulted in the release of all the occupants except “four foreigners” and the crew.
There had been 81 passengers on the aircraft which was operating the short 45min domestic service between Alexandria and EgyptAir’s main base at Cairo.
It was diverted to Larnaca in Cyprus, where it landed at about 08:45 local time, and has been on the ground since.
