Types where the two companies will explore local MRO capabilities include the C295 tactical transport, ACJ320, and ACJ340. The agreement also covers helicopters such as the H125M, H175, and H225.

“Under the MoU, Airbus and relevant entities will work closely to enhance [Thai Aerospace’s] aircraft MRO capabilities, expanding the scope of its current helicopter maintenance to cover the C295 tactical transport aircraft and VIP transport aircraft for the Royal Thai Armed Forces,” says Thai Aerospace

“The two partners will also explore opportunities to develop and expand their cooperation for additional support activities, including local content services to the current helicopter platforms.”

Airbus and Thai Aerospace have already partnered in other areas. From 2017 the Thai company has provided after-sales support for the Thai government’s helicopter fleet.

From 2021, Thai Aerospace has also performed final assembly for helicopters produced by Airbus for the Thai military and government agencies.
