China Southern Airlines has signed a long-term nacelle aftermarket agreement with Collins Aerospace Systems.
Collins says the agreement, which was inked at the China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai, covers the carrier’s 30 Boeing 787s. Collins is an original equipment manufacturer for the 787’s nacelles.
The company states that work for China Southern will be done at its Tianjin facility, one of the eight facilities Collins' aerostructures business has worldwide.
Cirium fleets data indicates China Southern operates 10 787-8s and 15 787-9s. It has another five 787-9s on order.
The latest agreement comes as China Southern picked Rolls-Royce for engine MRO services for the Trent XWB engines on its Airbus A350 fleet at the CIIE.
